In order to obtain a perfect aluminum permanent mold casting parts, in addition to designing a suitable mold according to the characteristics of the parts, temperature control also plays a very important role.
Temperature control in the aluminum permanent casting process includes temperature of molten aluminum and mold temperature control.
1. Control of the melting process of molten aluminum.
The molten aluminum temperature usually suitable for aluminum permanent mold casting process is 660°C to 920°C. Melting aluminum to the correct temperature can ensure that the molten aluminum flows correctly in the cavities so that it can be full every complex detail of the mold before solidifying prematurely and causing product defects.
The temperature of molten aluminum should be considered comprehensively based on factors such as the volume, shape and wall thickness of the parts, and then the correct molten aluminum temperature should be selected.
2. Temperature control of the mold.
In the process of aluminum permanent mold casting, heating the mold is a necessary process. The mold can quickly reach the appropriate temperature during heating. If the mold temperature is not enough, the molten aluminum will cool and solidify prematurely when it flows into the mold cavities, and it cannot be reached some cavities ends, resulting in defects in the casting process. Therefore, the mold must be heated for more than one hour, until the mold temperature reaches above 150°.
Temperature control is a key parameter in the permanent mold casting process, affecting the flow, filling, solidification and final performance of the aluminum casting liquid. Proper temperature control ensures that the casting has excellent mechanical properties, high quality and no defects, ensuring that a perfect aluminum alloy casting can be obtained.
