(1) What is aging treatment? The method of heating the
aluminum casting after solution treatment to the set temperature, keeping it after a period of time, and then slowly cooling it in the air is called aging. Aging strengthening is natural aging at room temperature, and after keeping it in an environment higher than room temperature for a period of time, artificial aging is completed. Aging treatment is a naturally occurring supersaturated solid solution decomposition process, which can restore the crystal lattice of the alloy matrix to a relatively stable state.
(2) What is annealing treatment? Usually the
aluminum casting is heated to about 300°C and kept for a period of time, and then the technique of using a furnace to cool to room temperature is called annealing. During the annealing, the solid solution decomposes and the particles aggregate, which can eliminate the internal stress of the casting, stabilize the size of the casting, avoid deformation, and improve the plasticity of the casting.
(3) What is solution treatment? The aluminum casting is heated to the melting point of the eutectic, kept at this temperature for a longer period of time, and then quickly cooled to make the reinforcing group dissolve well, and this high-temperature state is stored to room temperature. This process is called solution treatment. Solution treatment can increase the strength and plasticity of castings and improve the corrosion resistance of the alloy. The effect of solution treatment is usually related to three aspects: solution treatment temperature, solution treatment retention time and cooling rate.
